Is Library really the best place to study?

I know, I know, you really want to know about study routine during an online class. But the most interesting thing lies in the fact that, when life does go back to normal, like it has, right now, which is when the question arises- which places should you prefer to study?

Is Library really the best place to study?

DISCLAIMER: THIS IS NOT FOR EVERYONE. OF COURSE, FOR SOME OF YOU, LIBRARY MAY BE THE SAFE HAVEN TO STUDY, WHILE IT IS FOR YOU, IT'S NOT FOR ME. AND IF SOMEONE'S LIKE ME, YOU MIGHT PROBABLY RELATE TO WHAT I'M GOING TO WRITE DOWN IN HERE.

For me, it is not. A library may be the best place to study when you're surrounded by easily accessible books and resources. But it is not so much in term of relaxing and keeping up your own routine without freaking out by looking at someone else.

For me, the library has always been a place full of students who are learning something new or trying to get into the "study mode". While it has its merits of getting motivated while watching the students study, it works entirely different and in an opposite manner for me.

Here are two reasons why I would prefer to study at some other place, instead of a library.

Watching students constantly pick up the largest books and take down notes is scary.

Sure, the ultimate aim is to be the best, but when you're at a place surrounded by books and resources, you cannot help but notice the fact that there will always be someone who would take out the biggest book or constantly sit down and memorise the materials.

It makes you feel like you need to step up your game and sit down for hours and hours at the end to make you feel like you have completed studying.

This brings us to our next point.

Unhealthy amount of study sessions with no breaks in between.

As opposed to the general days, the library is mostly packed with students on the days when there are exams because hey, that's when you go to the library the most- to study.

The visuals of students studying in the library is a very common sight. The ungodly amount of study sessions they pull up right before the exams is scary. While these study sessions can be conducted in the room as well, the fact that you get to witness so many students jam-packed, studying and living on caffeine with little to no breaks in between scares me, because, at that point of time, hardly will you ever see a student taking the adequate amount of breaks and/or taking care of themselves.

I genuinely do not have much to say about the library culture other than the fact that it was earlier supposed to be a sweet haven for readers and has now turned into machine-making resources. It used to be a place where people would go about to spend their leisure time and not just cramp up information with little to no breaks.

HOWEVER, as opposed to my view, I have also seen people who have been taking breaks and have been taking care of themselves during the exam season and not just spend the entire day in the library caffeinated.

So, this is my personal opinion on why I don't prefer libraries.

Hope this was helpful! Let me know in the comments below as to what posts would you like to see in future!
